The ladybird visits
me
Only at night
Year round and humble
her spots symmetrical, flight haphazard
Drawn to my single lamp
Like a six legged Icarus
Her tap cuts
Through clocks and electric static
Her shadow cast two feet tall
A lost behemoth strides my single room
In endless search for last year’s sunlight.
